Due to the continued growth of our Consulting Practice, we are currently interviewing Senior Tax Consultants for our Forensic, Litigation and Valuation Service Practice, to be based in our New York, NY office.

 

Our FLVS Practice delivers solutions to law firms and corporate clients in key areas including:

              

  • Fraud & white collar crime
  • Tax Advocacy
  • Intellectual property infringement
  • Professional negligence
  • Contract disputes
  • Construction disputes
  • Complex commercial litigation matter
  • Bankruptcy litigation matters
  • Forensic investigations
  • Valuation services
  • Monitorships

Responsibilities

  • Provide tax advocacy services on criminal and civil matters. Participate in IRS audits, and administrative hearings.
  • Research and consult on various tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries when requested, make recommendations to the client for consideration.
  • Handle tax preparation of sophisticated tax returns, including international returns
  • Proactively build relationships and communicate effectively with the client to provide superior client service
  • Assist in Expanding the tax advocacy service segment by participation in initiatives to identify business opportunities and generate revenue growth
  • Assist with other engagements as needed
  • Invest in professional development through active participation in training sessions and networking events both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent required. Master’s Degree, MST, JD, or other applicable advanced degree a plus
  • CPA or CFE required
  • Three (3) years of experience a professional services firm providing tax compliance services or equivalent government agency.  Previous experience in tax examination, tax advocacy or controversy preferred. Ideal candidate will have fraud experience.
  • Previous experience reviewing tax returns and international tax experience is highly desired
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills, and highly developed Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel) required
  • Relevant skills in project execution with hands on experience in the full life-cycle of a project and excellent written/verbal communications and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility to travel to client site as needed and ability to work beyond core business hours for client engagements
