    Due to the continued growth of our consulting practice, we are currently recruiting for a Technical Consultant to join our Healthcare Consulting Practice based in our Chicago, IL office location. Our Technical Consultants provide clients with best practice knowledge in application development and manage application development through the lifecycle of a project.  In addition, they work with clients in all phases of development from project envisioning through deployment and support.

    Responsibilities

    • Design develop and construct custom data management and analytics applications.
    • Perform data analysis on large data volumes to support business decision making in client settings.
    • Contribute to the development of long term roadmaps which describe, quantify and articulate trade-off decisions related to delivery of large scale solutions via a series of projects.
    • Perform risk based assessments of new projects or in-flight projects to determine potential project issues.
    • Act as the liaison among executive committee members, stakeholders, internal team members and client functional and delivery teams.
    • Manage and provide oversight to design and execution of test plan activities execute test plan activities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or related field (extensive relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education).
    • At least three years of hands-on experience with industry recognized statistical analysis tools and/or software packages: for example SAS, IBM Python, R, etc, preferably within the health care or health insurance industries.
    • At least three years hands-on SQL experience.
    • Experience with business intelligence software and tools; for example SAS, Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects, etc.
    • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle principles and practices.
    • Understanding of database design fundamentals and best practices.
    • Understanding of data management, data quality and data integration best practices and methodologies (hands-on experience with data management tools and software packages like Informatica, SAS, Oracle, etc is highly desirable).
    • Experience performing ad hoc analysis and experience working with large data volumes.
    • Highly-developed Microsoft suite skills (Word, excel, etc.) required.
    • Well-developed analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management and communication skills.
    • Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, see the "big picture" as well as the details, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects.
    • Project experience with full lifecycle exposure (e.g. business case and roadmap, requirements gathering, use case development, system analysis and design, integration, testing, and deployment).
