    Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP is seeking an Experienced Tax Professional to join our Southfield, Michigan office.  We have a thriving, sophisticated individual income tax practice, with a great team of experienced professionals.  The position could be structured as full time or part time depending on the individual.  This position requires prior experience with the preparation of complex individual income tax returns, many of which include both federal filings and multiple state filings.  The ability and confidence to directly communicate with the client, with the assistance of your supervisors, is important.

    Responsibilities

    • Preparation of individual income tax returns utilizing information provided by clients, including the review of client information, and the inputting the client data into our tax preparation software.
    • Securing all information required to prepare a complete and accurate tax return in accordance with firm policies.
    • Compliance with our firm written tax practice standards and firm 1040 procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
    • 2 or more years of recent tax return preparation experience required.
    • Knowledge of basic accounting concepts involved in tax return preparation.
    • Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
    • Solid written and oral communication skills.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff from entry level to partners and work well in a team-focused environment.
    • Availability to work extended hours February through mid-April and September through mid-October.
    • Training provided. Flexible working arrangements available.
