    Responsibilities

    • Meet with identified state and local economic development agencies to offer education on the use of federal credits, incentive and financing solutions.
    • Monitors and evaluates regional activities for announcements related to new projects, state legislation affecting, or industry events that affect the Agricultural, Food & Beverage Industry
    • Actively identify and form relationships with regional contractors/engineering firms that are working with new or existing companies current projects.
    • Actively identify and qualify likely leads which require formal firm follow up
    • Directs channel development activity to appropriate team leaders for additional follow up
    • Is able to work with BT staff to analyze target areas of interest for development and effectively prioritize and plan the best approach to the market area.
    • Actively identify and participate in state, local, or industry related trade groups
    • Represents company at regional trade association meetings to promote services
    • Works to further develop existing client relationships for other service area in identified regions
    • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
    • Gather competitive intelligence and knowledge surrounding industry trends, share insights with client services, marketing and sales
    • Promote to the identified audiences on the full range of Baker Tilly service offerings while in the development process.

    Qualifications

    • BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; MBA or MS Degree highly desired
    • 10+ years of experience in transactional work in the fields of lending (loan origination or account management), state economic development, private equity, or commercial development
    • Direct exposure to support of promoting and facilitating new project implementation, company development, and/or construction management
    • Understanding of the use of programs like New Market Tax Credits, TIF, State & Local Tax Incentives or negotiated incentive programs used in new project development
    • Ability to work under a defined and planned directive with minimal direct day to day supervision for implementation
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to travel 50-80% as needed
