Communications Team Scope of Responsibility

  • Digital Workspace (intranet) – digital workspace content creation and management, interface between practitioners and technology, digital workspace vendor management, digital workspace analytics
  • PR & Media Relations – press releases and pitching, earned media, media training, crisis communications, agency management
  • Social Media – content creation and management of firm channels, strategy, policy, content, analytics
  • Executive and Internal Communication – organizational announcements, firm narrative and executive positioning (e.g., presentations, speechwriting, blogs, videos, social media presence)
  • Visual Communications – video production and editing, graphics design
  • Special Projects – strategy execution and team member engagement, firm programs/campaigns, communications execution for service offering launches, M&A, etc.

Intern Focus Areas
The Communications and Digital Media Specialist intern will focus primarily on digital workspace (intranet), social media, visual communications and special projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist writing original content for the firm’s intranet, including employee human interest stories and firmwide announcements; update and post content on firm’s intranet
  • Contribute to original content for the firm’s social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook), including blog posts
  • Assist in maintaining editorial and content calendars
  • Participate in the design and creation of compelling graphics and digital content that supports key messaging and storytelling for use in social media, the intranet, presentations and collateral
  • Work with other Baker Tilly Team members in the production and editing of videos showcasing firm executives


  • High school diploma required
  • Actively pursuing Bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing or related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills utilizing various writing styles (e.g., corporate, narrative, storytelling, etc.)
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs, primarily InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work successfully in a team-oriented environment that is geographically distributed
  • Must be creative, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multi-tasking many projects often on tight deadlines
  • Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned
