Baker Tilly Vantagen is seeking a skilled COBRA Benefits Administrator to support its growing COBRA benefits administration practice.



  • Professionally handle telephone/email inquiries from COBRA participants.
  • Process daily correspondence queue for fulfillment
  • Negotiate with carriers and other third parties as necessary to resolve membership issues.
  • Support monthly COBRA participant invoicing process.
  • Ensure COBRA notices are mailed to plan participants and notify carriers of elections and terminations.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all applicable federal COBRA regulations.
  • Provide direct assistance to client-level Human Resources/Benefits contacts when necessary on COBRA-related matters
  • Approximately 70% COBRA Processing work and 30% Call Support


  • A successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of experience in the customer service, data processing, human resources or insurance-related fields.
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required, as the position will interface with consumers and external clients.
  • Strong organizational and communications abilities are critical to success in this position, as team members are expected to manage multiple priorities and work with a moderate amount of supervision and interface directly with clients.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
