Baker Tilly’s Healthcare Consulting Practice, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has extensive experience delivering advisory services to senior living organizations and healthcare providers.  This is a tremendous opportunity for an individual to join our growing Consulting team. We are seeking a candidate with senior living industry knowledge, professional services experience providing market research and strategy support consulting services. Knowledge of the Senior Living industry is strongly preferred.


You will work with a select group of professionals in an entrepreneurial environment to provide consulting services to include:

  • A broad spectrum of Market research services including demographic trend evaluations, economic profiles, competitive analyses and demand methodologies
  • Determination of Primary and Secondary Markets
  • Supportive work for strategic planning engagements
  • Technology based “heat” mapping
  • Quantitative and Qualitative research employing multiple research methodologies
  • Consumer research including surveys and focus groups
  • Marketing and sales evaluations including mystery shopping
  • Property comparisons to evaluate physical plant, operations, programs and services among providers

  • Conduct market research and related analyses including preparation of market assessment reports
  • Evaluate Primary and Secondary Markets
  • Obtain, summarize and analyze competitor data from a variety of sources including telephone surveys, website research and on-site visits
  • Design and conduct telephone surveys to assess qualitative market indicators
  • Utilize proprietary model for assessing market depth
  • Plan and design technology based maps for inclusion in market assessments
  • Compile, summarize and analyze hospital utilization data
  • Incorporate Firm based data subscriptions into research process
  • Create interview guides, survey instruments and focus group moderator guides and summarize results
  • Organize consulting engagement meetings, coordinate logistics and prepare advance materials
  • Interact with clients throughout consulting engagements including on-site tours and property evaluations, Leadership team meetings, telephone conference calls to plan engagements and deliver project results
  • Prepare reports summarizing findings and recommendations with ability to design effective means for presenting data, findings and recommendations
  • Assist with proposals (scope of work and budgets) for Senior Living Consulting engagements
  • Conduct research, develop presentation outlines and prepare presentation slides for client engagements and industry public speaking opportunities
  • Become proficient with Firm software for file storage and data management to ensure consistent and compliant record retention
  • Identify areas for improvement in market research processes including evaluation of software and industry data sources
  • Support the Firm’s marketing initiatives as related to the Senior Living Consulting Practice and the related growth strategy
  • Assist with event coordination and preparation of research and materials, including industry trade shows, round table forums and thought leadership initiatives for the Senior Living Consulting Practice
  • Participate in professional development, training and networking events internally and externally
  • Demonstrate excellent team skills with a willingness to participate on a multitude of varying engagements, exhibit a positive attitude and high ethical and confidentiality standards


  • Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Marketing or other relevant degree.
  • Minimum of five years healthcare consulting experience with knowledge and experience of Senior Living industry.
  • Experience and in-depth understanding of research methodologies
  • High proficiency with data collection, summarization and analysis using Microsoft Suite and other analytical tools
  • Demonstrate maturity level in dealing with client leadership throughout the research process
  • Demonstrate proven written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, ability to work in a fast paced, and deadline driven environment across multiple clients
  • Ability to provide excellent client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects.
  • Willingness to travel as required, up to 25% for client engagements and potential for industry event travel
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours as needed for client engagements
