Are you an ambitious Tax Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to build client relationships and help propel business growth? We are seeking a Controller to join Baker Tilly Catalyst in our Madison, WI office. You will be part of our growing client service team and will play an integral role in continuing to expand our market presence. Sign-on and/or relocation may be bonus negotiable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and provide exceptional service to clients including tax, accounting, and advisory services.
  • Manage production of monthly, quarterly, and financial reports and benchmarking.
  • Manage production of annual tax returns for business and individual clients including review and signature on returns.
  • Provide recommendations for business and process improvements.
  • Work with other managers to insure workflows are efficient and streamlined in and between offices and in and between audit and tax functions.
  • Coach, train, and mentor staff on client service, tax, and accounting matters.
  • Provide leadership to the Southern Wisconsin Catalyst practice by promoting teamwork, developing proper training and mentoring, and managing workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent required. Master’s Degree, MST, JD, or other applicable advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA required.
  • Six (6) plus years of experience in professional tax accounting functions, required. Two (2) years of supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Experience reviewing corporate returns, flow through entities, multi-state and individual tax returns along with FAS 109 and FIN 48.
  • Previous demonstrated success in related position. 
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
